Carpe Diem Ghost Writer #20, Jen’s “The Scent of Poetry”

Go here and learn!!

(NB The only reason I have spaced these Haiku out in this manner is because, yet again,

dear WordPress will not format properly and is removing my carriage returns,

making these three separate poems into one long mush.)

Damp soil, breathing out

into the night, scenting my

steps as I slope home.

Citrus burst! Eye screws

shut and the tang explodes my

nostrils with delight.

I breathe dust and smell

memory: warm, attic bound,

full of lost moments:

Summer’s last gasp.
