Carpe Diem 479 – Greed

Now, the last time I tried to post for Carpe Diem, WordPress managed to overwrite my drafts, delete the three haiku I’d been working on for them, and replace it with an older post: argh!!!

So, having sworn at my laptop and at the virtual world as well, if I may quote the words of Whitesnake, ‘Here I go again….’

Deceit in damp form,

tricks the hungry scavenger,

reflects on his loss.

I considered an alternative last line, but wanted to hint more strongly at the remorse the dog was feeling at losing his bone, so stayed with the above line. This was the ‘close second’ version:

Deceit in damp form,

tricks the hungry scavenger,

reflects foolishness.
