Milo Quandary…

…lived in the parentheses of life. He had never approached the body of it, the heart, for circumstance and reality seemed to act as one to curtail any chances of success for him in the same way that dogs fighting over food scraps jostle for position over the weaker, eventually starving them out of the running until exhaustion, illness and death claimed them as its own. His own health was an appendix of ailments, labelled in impossible script and rendered virtual by his constant attendance at his local Doctors.
